Is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. The overview points to a heavy-duty pickup that leans hard into capability and presence, with maximum towing of 16,300 kilograms and payload capacity up to 3,300 kilograms. It also offers two V8 engine choices, towing-focused hardware, and useful tech such as detailed camera views, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio. For you, that makes it a strong fit if your priority is a truck built for hard work rather than everyday softness. There are 27.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck designed around serious capability, with a powertrain lineup and towing hardware aimed at demanding use. It also notes that the cabin is basic compared with some rivals and that fuel economy and driving dynamics lag behind Ford and Ram. For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that a hard-working heavy-duty truck may show wear more quickly if it has spent its life towing or hauling at the limit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 51 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.84% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $55,483 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $59,949 CAD sits slightly above last year's $56,110 CAD.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this truck’s heavy-duty capability and work-ready appeal. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, that demand can help support future resale strength. The limited inventory also means clean examples may continue to attract attention from shoppers who need serious towing and payload capacity.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

The bottom line: If you want the 2020 Silverado 3500HD’s heavy-duty capability, strong towing focus, and solid owner satisfaction, it makes sense to prioritise this year.
