Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.48/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,424 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $33,592 CAD average.
• It has a loyal following and strong sales momentum.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines lower pricing with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you are willing to spend more for the next model year, the 2021 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritise a newer truck and do not mind paying above the current average.
