Used 2020 Acura TLX for Sale near New Brunswick

How much does the 2020 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 15.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 65 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — 4.62/5 is a strong owner rating for this model year, and the expert test drive score is 6.83/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners commonly praise the smooth ride, handling, overall features, and exterior design. The TLX also appeals if you want a premium badge with multiple powertrain options and strong value for money.

The trade-offs are clear: poor ergonomic design and outdated technology. That matters most if you want a luxury sedan that feels especially modern and intuitive in daily use.

For you, the TLX makes the most sense if you value driving character and premium value more than cabin polish. Good and great deals account for 27.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find smooth, dependable, and easy to live with over time. The review summary also highlights the TLX as a vehicle people appreciate for its overall features and driving feel, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

The expert test drive notes that the TLX is easy enough to like beyond its frustrating infotainment and some aggravating ADAS behaviour, which suggests the core vehicle is solid even if some interfaces are dated. If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is living with ageing technology and less-refined controls rather than a lack of appeal in the chassis or powertrain.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura TLX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec option package adds 19-inch wheels, revised bumper designs, side sill skirts, and oversize round exhaust outlets, while the Technology Package is recommended for comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment enhancements. If you want the best-looking version, the A-Spec stands out; if you want the best value, the SH-AWD with Technology Package is the smarter target.
• Powertrain: Front-wheel drive models use a 206-horsepower, 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while SH-AWD versions use a 290-hp, 3.5-litre V6 with a nine-speed automatic. The V6 builds power smoothly, and SH-AWD adds the torque-vectoring character that makes the TLX more engaging.
• Safety package: Every TLX includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.
• Infotainment: The TLX uses dual displays, with a touchscreen on the lower screen and controls for the upper screen, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is dated and frustrating to use, so make sure you can live with it before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: On the test loop, the TLX returned 10.2 litres per 100 kilometres, and Natural Resources Canada says it should consume 10.3 L/100 km in combined driving for non-A-Spec SH-AWD models and FWD models, with lower figures for some versions.

Which 2020 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura TLX is offered in 3 trim levels: TLX, Technology Package, and A-Spec.

Here's the short version:

• TLX: This is the entry point, but it misses the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert that comes on higher versions. Buy it only if price matters most and you can live without the extra convenience and safety equipment.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value choice because it adds the comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment upgrades CarGurus recommends. If you want the most balanced used TLX, start here.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you care most about styling. It adds the sportier visual treatment with 19-inch wheels, revised bumpers, side sill skirts, and larger exhaust outlets.

For safety-package shoppers, the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not included on the base TLX with no option packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura TLX?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 65 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,504 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $24,621 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,263 CAD.

That price decline suggests the TLX has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from that lower entry point, but resale upside will depend on how well the car holds buyer interest over time.

The TLX’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand, especially among shoppers who want a premium sedan with a driving-focused personality. Well-equipped examples should remain easier to move than poorly optioned ones, particularly if they present cleanly and have desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX safe?

The 2020 Acura TLX does not qualify for a Top Safety Pick due to an Acceptable result in the small overlap frontal-impact test on the driver’s side. It earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test, including the rollover test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

The main caveat is that the safety tech is effective but not especially smooth or refined. The adaptive cruise control and lane-departure-warning behaviour can feel intrusive compared with newer rivals.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 TLX combines SH-AWD performance character with strong value and a clear enthusiast identity.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,035 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $24,621 CAD average.
• It moves to a new platform with a new exterior, interior, and powertrain choices.

The bottom line: choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its older tech and ergonomics. If you are willing to spend more for a newer-generation design and a more modern cabin, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path.
