CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Volvo XC60
Summary
With 27 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,397 CAD, 33.3% of 2019 Volvo XC60 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Volvo XC60 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design with a strong emphasis on safety and technology. In this generation, Volvo paired the XC60 with fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains, standard all-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic transmission, while also offering a plug-in hybrid in the lineup. Standard equipment was generous for the class, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights, and a nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
What makes the 2019 model especially appealing is how much of Volvo’s safety focus comes baked in. The XC60’s City Safety system included steer assist, and Volvo also used steer assist for Oncoming Lane Mitigation and blind spot monitoring to help reduce the risk of collisions. Buyers also got the benefit of a cabin that feels upscale and thoughtfully equipped, which helps explain why the XC60 has such a strong reputation as a comfortable daily driver.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The XC60 can be pricey, and the model is noted for jerky acceleration and braking, along with tight rear-seat legroom. Even so, for shoppers who value safety, style, and a well-finished interior, the 2019 Volvo XC60 remains a distinctive choice.

Beautifully designed inside and out. The T6 engine is very peppy. We owned an Audi Q5 before this and we love this even more!

The 2019 Volvo XC60 Inscription was exactly what I was looking for in a daily driver. I managed to get well over 30MPG for the first fill up, so even happier. Good handling, extremely comfortable seats, full electronics, and a great ride over most of the poor roads. I would recommend to those looking for a luxury mid size SUV.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for comfort, style, and the kind of ownership experience that keeps people happy over time. The same reviews also describe it as a great daily driver, which suggests it delivers the kind of trouble-free routine many used buyers want. Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volvo XC60?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 78 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $23,740 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Volvo XC60's resale value?
The current average of $23,766 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,077 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy at the right number now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and owner approval, the 2019 is the year to focus on. It gives you a lower average price than last year’s market while still benefiting from very positive owner feedback. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2019 is the better starting point when you want a premium XC60 with solid market support.
