This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 56 listings available.

The current average of $16,407 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,395 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one now, the current trend implies you should expect a more value-conscious resale environment than last year. Even so, the XC60’s strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 XC60 makes the most sense if you want the classic first-generation Volvo formula: safety, comfort, and a premium feel at a more approachable used price. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2016 can be worth a look for a lower entry point, while shoppers who want a newer design and more modern tech may prefer moving to a later year.
