Why it stands out
The 2019 Toyota Tundra stands out as a full-size truck with a reputation for durability and strong resale value. It sits in the second generation, which is described as having higher reliability ratings than either the first or current generations, and that long-running reputation is a major part of its appeal. Buyers looking for a used truck that is likely to be kept for the long haul will also find that Tundras tend to hold their value better than other full-size trucks.
For 2019, the second-generation Tundra is part of the group of late-model years noted for having few complaints, and it benefits from the generation’s broad range of configurations and truck-focused hardware. The second generation offered a V6 and two V8 engine options for its entire lifespan, and the top-tier 5.7-litre V8 was rated at 381 hp with a maximum towing capacity of 4,535 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and a payload of more than 900 kilograms (2,000 pounds). It also came with a long list of standard safety equipment, including stability control, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, anti-lock brakes, and tailgate assist, while Toyota Safety Sense-P had already become standard on all trucks by 2018.
At the same time, the 2019 Toyota Tundra is not the most modern-feeling choice in the segment. The source notes a cheap-feeling interior, poor forward visibility, and no diesel option, and owner feedback points to outdated technology and fuel economy that could be better. Even so, its combination of proven reliability, strong towing ability, and solid ride quality makes it a distinctive choice for buyers who value toughness and long-term ownership over the latest features.

i have had a 2012 Tundra and 2017. They are a beast of a truck with soo much room. Two things i would change and thats probably it. They NAVIGATION system is the weakest on the market. The screen and apps are actually really bad. Reason why i didnt purchase another one in December. The second would be the gas mileage. I guess that comes with the beefiness of the truck. If the Nav was better, i would trade my truck in tomorrow to get another one.

If the technology inside was updated, I’d give it 5 stars. A little bulky but definitely a work mule of a truck.

The Tundra is beautiful. Had just about every feature you could want. Rides like a luxury car. Had more room than any other truck in its class. Great value and amazing truck all around!
