Is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 4.81/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. That makes it a strong fit if you want a rugged midsize SUV with genuine all-terrain ability and a practical cabin. Owners describe it as reliable and dependable, and the feedback also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers. The repeated praise for durability and long-term confidence fits the 4Runner’s reputation as a vehicle you can count on. For used buyers, the main risk is less about basic dependability and more about the higher running costs that can come with age and ownership.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what a fair listing looks like.

• Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,710 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $41,499 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,196 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests buyers have a bit more negotiating room today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, the current trend is a reminder that resale value remains solid, but it can still move with market conditions. If demand stays steady, a well-kept 4Runner should remain easier to sell than many SUVs in its class.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.81/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.81/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $44,783 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $41,499 CAD average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its rugged, old-school character. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-year option with added safety equipment, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
