How much does the 2019 Subaru Forester cost?

There are 214 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2019 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating suggests strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, safety features, smooth performance, visibility, comfort, and all-wheel drive capability, which fits well if you want a practical family SUV with confident all-weather traction. The Forester’s everyday usability and safety focus make it especially appealing if you value a sensible, easy-to-live-with compact SUV over something flashy. With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on comfort, safety, and all-wheel drive confidence. That kind of long-term approval matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for daily driving and family duty. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly, especially if you plan to keep it for the long haul.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to make a good purchase possible.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,922 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $21,789 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,732 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can be helpful if you are buying now but may mean less upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current trend points to a model that is still in demand, but not appreciating in the short term. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned to limit depreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Forester is a strong choice if you want the updated fifth-generation formula with standard all-wheel drive, a comfort-first cabin, and broad owner approval. If your priority is value, this year looks especially worth considering because prices have eased and there is still a meaningful share of good deals. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether an older Forester gives you similar practicality for less money.
