Used 2019 Subaru Forester for Sale near Alberta

How much does the 2019 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 8.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 208 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2019 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, safety features, smooth performance, visibility, comfort, and all-wheel drive capability, which fits well if you want a practical compact SUV for family use and everyday driving. The main trade-offs mentioned are the lack of a standard transmission option and some Android connectivity frustrations. With 36.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a decent chance of finding a well-priced example.

Is the 2019 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on comfort, safety, and all-wheel drive confidence. That kind of long-term approval suggests the Forester can be a sensible used buy if you want something you can count on for daily use and poor-weather driving. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright satisfaction and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and still feels as solid as owners expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a solid example.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 208 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,918 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $21,807 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,750 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the Forester easier to buy now but may also limit short-term upside for a future seller. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The model’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but resale value will still depend on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the fifth-generation Forester’s comfort, visibility, standard all-wheel drive, and strong owner approval, the 2019 is the right place to focus. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and shop whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
