Is the 2019 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 RAM 1500 earns a 4.73/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious, well-appointed interior. That fits especially well if you want a full-size pickup that feels more like a refined family vehicle than a bare-bones work truck. With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its smooth ride and strong power delivery. Comments about the spacious cabin and overall comfort suggest it’s a vehicle many owners feel confident living with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may show more wear in build quality or ride quality than you’d want, so condition matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,202 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $27,327 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,925 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has already absorbed some of its recent market adjustment, which can help future resale if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside exposure when it comes time to sell. The broad trim and option spread can still create meaningful differences in resale, so well-equipped, well-kept examples should be easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $31,430 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,327 CAD average.
• The EcoDiesel returns across the trim range.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the redesigned truck at a lower entry price and value strong owner satisfaction. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2019 is the better starting point; if you want the diesel option and are willing to pay more, the 2020 is the more specialised pick.
