Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 4.78/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, advanced technology, strong performance, craftsmanship, spacious interior, and safety features. For you, that makes sense if you want a top-tier luxury sedan with an emphasis on comfort and innovation, though the market still reflects its premium positioning. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with praise for the car’s trouble-free feel and the confidence it inspires over the long term. That said, this is still a complex luxury vehicle, so used buyers should expect higher ownership risk than with a mainstream sedan, especially if maintenance history is incomplete.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 50 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $62,048 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $66,837 CAD sits slightly below last year's $73,256 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the right number and keep the car in strong condition, the current pricing trend gives you a clearer path to avoiding an overly steep depreciation hit. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the newer-feeling S-Class experience, strong owner approval, and a market that has eased from last year’s pricing. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be the better secondary path, especially if you can find one with the equipment and condition you want at a lower asking price.
