How much does the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 11.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 71 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.79/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the luxurious interior, advanced technology, and smooth performance, and they also highlight the high-quality craftsmanship and spacious cabin. For you, that means this model fits best if you want a flagship luxury sedan that prioritises comfort, refinement, and a long feature list. With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as smooth and well put together over time. That said, this is still a complex luxury sedan, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about expensive upkeep than basic day-to-day trustworthiness.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $59,753 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $59,844 CAD sits slightly below last year's $67,994 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you own one for a few years, the current softer pricing means future depreciation may be less dramatic than it was over the past year, but this remains a high-end luxury sedan with naturally higher ownership costs. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped S-Class with strong owner approval and a softer price than last year, the 2018 is the year to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar car offers a better entry point, but the 2018 remains a sensible primary target when condition and equipment line up.
