Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 38 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $95,402 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $97,670 CAD sits slightly below last year's $105,557 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you're buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market. If prices continue to normalise, resale values could stay under pressure unless the car is especially well equipped or exceptionally maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings a refined flagship cabin, advanced tech, and a strong expert score.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and luxury, the 2022 is the smarter buy. If you value the newer powertrain direction and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is worth a look.
