This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 336 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $21,493 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,187 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-5 has become more accessible for buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, the softer market means you may not see the same return you would have a year ago, especially if similar listings remain plentiful. Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction should help it stay appealing to shoppers looking for a well-regarded compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,033 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,493 CAD average.
• It shifts the CX-5 further into premium territory.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable with a used-market price that has already softened. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year experience, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
