CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mazda CX-3
Summary
With 150 currently listed for sale and an average price of $17,578 CAD, 31.3% of 2019 Mazda CX-3 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mazda CX-3 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mazda CX-3 stands out as a small crossover that leans hard into Mazda’s sporty character. Owners praise its lively, fun-to-drive feel and stylish design, and the model’s fuel economy is another clear draw. It also benefits from a solid list of driver-assist safety features and strong safety ratings, which helps it appeal to buyers who want a compact SUV that feels a little more polished and engaging than many rivals.
For 2019, the CX-3’s appeal is also tied to its equipment and powertrain choices. The available 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine was paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the model could be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Standard features included 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry, an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Mazda Connect, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims added useful comfort and convenience items such as dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display, leather seats, and a power liftgate.
Its main weakness is space. The CX-3 is repeatedly described as cramped inside, especially in the back seat, and it does not offer much cargo room. That makes it best suited to buyers who value style, efficiency, and a more entertaining driving experience over maximum practicality.

How much does the 2019 Mazda CX-3 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $17,562 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $17,197 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $19,271 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,271 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.87% |
Prices have softened 8.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 150 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice if you're comparing condition, mileage, and equipment.
Is the 2019 Mazda CX-3 a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Mazda CX-3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which is a strong sign that owners are very satisfied with it. Owners consistently praise its sporty, fun-to-drive character, stylish design, and great fuel economy. It also fits well if you want a compact SUV that feels more polished and engaging than many rivals, though its cramped interior means it suits you best if style and efficiency matter more than maximum space. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Mazda CX-3 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with praise centred on the kind of ownership experience you can count on. That said, as with any used vehicle, your long-term risk depends on maintenance history, so a well-documented example is the safer choice.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda CX-3?
This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.
- Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 150 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.87% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $17,197 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Mazda CX-3's resale value?
The current average of $17,562 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,271 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the CX-3 is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it easier for you to get into one now. For a future seller, the same trend means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than it would be in a stronger market. Well-kept examples should still attract attention, especially if they present as clean, efficient, and well equipped.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.87% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the CX-3's sporty feel, stylish design, and strong owner approval, the 2019 is a solid choice. If you're more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge.
