Is the 2019 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and easy to live with, especially because of its comfort and smooth driving character. That kind of repeat satisfaction often matters more than a single feature when you want a used SUV you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, since condition will matter more than the model’s general reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 233 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,794 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $14,813 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,001 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Sportage easier to buy now but may also mean future sellers need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one and plan to sell later, the softer trend means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle presents against similar listings. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room, the 2019 is a sensible choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar Sportage offers a better asking price or a stronger deal.
