CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Dodge Challenger
Summary
With 75 currently listed for sale and an average price of $51,925 CAD, 17.3% of 2019 Dodge Challenger listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Dodge Challenger 4.91 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Dodge Challenger stands out as a modern muscle car that keeps a distinctly old-school character. It is part of the Challenger’s third generation, a long-running design that was assembled in Brampton, Ontario, and it was built to compete with the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro. What makes it especially appealing is the way Dodge kept the formula fresh without abandoning the car’s basic identity: the Challenger offered a wide range of powertrains, eye-catching colours, and numerous special editions, while remaining a five-passenger coupe with a practical Uconnect infotainment system that included a touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
For buyers, the 2019 Challenger’s appeal lies in its mix of personality and breadth. The model line covered everything from accessible entry-level trims to high-performance variants, and it could be had with Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8 engines, along with manual and automatic transmissions. Some trims also offered widebody variations in 2019 and 2020, which added broader fenders, and special editions could bring spoilers, hood scoops, unique fascia and grille designs, special upholstery, and distinctive badging. That said, it is not a perfect choice for everyone: many examples were neglected or abused, and visibility and snowy-weather handling were common owner concerns.

I love it. It’s everything I’ve been looking for. If you’re looking for entry into muscle cars but you’re a little intimidated by the V8 this is definitely a good option, or if you want a good daily this is the way to go!

Just about all the features you might want in a performance big engine sports car. This five year old vehicle is a good value considering the mileage, condition and depreciation curve. What’s missing? Sunroof maybe but not a deal breaker for me. Other models to consider would be a Corvette or Camaro.

How much does the 2019 Dodge Challenger cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $50,985 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $38,664 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $59,992 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $59,948 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −14.95% |
Prices have softened 14.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 77 listings available, which suggests a limited but active supply.
Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its power, stylish design, and comfortable ride, and many appreciate the old-school muscle car feel paired with modern features. It also fits well if you want a five-passenger coupe with practical infotainment and a distinctive personality. With 20.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value the car’s long-term character and strong emotional appeal. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and signs of hard use, since neglected examples can raise ownership risk over time.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Dodge Challenger?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be patient and compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 20.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 77 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $38,664 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Dodge Challenger's resale value?
The current average of $50,985 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,948 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car more attractive to buyers today but may temper short-term gains for future sellers. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means you should focus on buying well and avoiding overpaying now. Strong demand can still support resale, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 20.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $37,305 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $50,985 CAD average.
- It adds new colours and a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the stronger current-market value story and a model year with proven owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2020 is worth a look because it comes in lower on average and adds a few extra visual touches.
