Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its performance, especially the Duramax Diesel engine, and they also describe it as dependable and capable for towing and hauling. That fits a heavy-duty truck aimed at buyers who want serious work capability with a more polished daily-driving experience. The market also shows 22.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights the truck as dependable, capable, and trouble-free in the ways that matter most for towing and hauling. That kind of owner confidence is especially useful if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul and want something you can count on for regular heavy-duty use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained properly, since heavy-duty use can magnify the cost of neglect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a well-priced truck appears.

• Deal availability: 22.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 54 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.44% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $34,385 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $39,353 CAD sits slightly above last year's $36,292 CAD.

That upward move suggests the truck has held buyer interest well, which can help support resale value if you decide to sell later. Because prices are already trending higher, a clean example with strong equipment and a good maintenance history may be easier to move than one that needs work. The limited inventory also helps keep pricing firm for sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 22.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.44% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with a well-liked diesel option, solid owner satisfaction, and a more modern cabin than older versions of the nameplate. If you are price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained truck rather than the newest badge, especially if you can find one near the lower end of the price range.
