Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura TLX stands out as a premium sport sedan that blends luxury, performance, and value in a way that helped define the model’s appeal. By this point in the first generation, Acura had already refreshed the TLX with a more conventional front grille, an improved infotainment system, and a broader suite of AcuraWatch driver-assist technologies. That combination gives the 2019 model a more modern feel than earlier versions, while still keeping the TLX’s core identity as a comfortable, well-equipped sedan with a sporty edge.
What makes the 2019 Acura TLX especially distinctive is the range of equipment and powertrain choices available. The model could be had with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-litre V6, and the V6 could be paired with SH-AWD. The base car included features such as four-wheel steering, LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, heated front seats, and a seven-speaker audio system, while available packages added leather seating surfaces, navigation, parking sensors, ventilated front seats, and more advanced driver assistance. The A-Spec trim also brought retuned suspension and steering, 19-inch wheels, upgraded front seats, and extra exterior styling tweaks, which helps explain why it is often remembered as the more enthusiast-focused choice.
There are trade-offs, though. The first-generation TLX is known for a cramped back seat, limited cargo space, and poor reliability of the nine-speed automatic. Even so, the 2019 Acura TLX remains appealing for buyers who want a used luxury sedan with a strong feature set, a comfortable cabin, and a good balance of efficiency and performance.

This car has every safety feature you can ask for and more. For a luxury vehicle, it’s a great vehicle for the value. The car is missing real wood and a racing steering wheel (just kidding). However it could use an automatic trunk closing button to make it official, again kidding. It has everything you can ask for.

Good value for features and how it drives, ASpec package is nice add, easy to drive. Have owned Lexus, Ford, BMW, Chevy, TLX is best value for the money, comfort, fun to drive, much better drive than Lexus I bought new, nearing BMW, but with Honda’s reliability, and thoughtfulness in engineering not always found on the other brands .

There are 64 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura TLX a good car?
Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, strong performance, and high safety features, and many also highlight the value it offers compared with other luxury vehicles. For you, that means the TLX makes the most sense if you want a premium sport sedan with a comfortable cabin and a sporty edge. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Acura TLX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback also points to reliability and a dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a car they can count on over time. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk is always shaped by how the previous owner treated the car.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura TLX?
This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 64 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.90% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $22,278 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura TLX's resale value?
The current average of $23,084 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,338 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if you buy at the wrong point in the range. If you purchase near the current average, your resale position may be steadier than if you overpay near the top of the market. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for cars with desirable equipment and clean history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura TLX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.90% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $20,430 CAD, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $23,084 CAD average.
- It adds a sharper refresh and a standout A-Spec package.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $26,309 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $23,084 CAD average.
- It leans harder into driving enjoyment with SH-AWD.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and market availability, the 2019 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2018 is the better value play; if you want a more enthusiast-leaning setup, the 2020 is worth the extra spend.
