How much does the 2018 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 6.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 123 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — 4.54/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it lines up with the 4Runner’s appeal as a rugged SUV built for capability. Drivers consistently praise its off-road ability, reliability, style, and durability. That makes sense if you want a body-on-frame SUV with standard four-wheel drive in Canada and a focus on long-term toughness rather than soft-road comfort. With 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.54/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to reliability, durability, and trouble-free ownership as recurring strengths, which fits the 4Runner’s reputation for being a vehicle you can count on. That said, its age and simpler design mean you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the model’s core dependability and more about finding one that has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 123 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,039 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $37,648 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,196 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely to come from appreciation alone. Even so, the 4Runner’s reputation for durability and its niche appeal should help it hold interest among used buyers. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records complete, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.54/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.54/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 4Runner’s core strengths — rugged construction, standard four-wheel drive, and a reputation for durability — the 2018 is a solid year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
