Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the 4Runner’s rugged character, standard four-wheel drive, and strong owner approval in a year that’s currently priced a bit softer than it was a year ago. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains a solid target when you want a dependable, trail-capable SUV.
