That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can put some pressure on future resale expectations if you plan to sell later. At the same time, the current price range still shows healthy demand for this model year, especially among shoppers drawn to its technology and performance. If you buy well now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Tesla Model 3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want the early Model 3 experience with standout performance, technology, and a high level of owner satisfaction. If your priority is value, the current pricing trend and deal share make this a sensible year to target. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a slightly newer or older example better fits your budget.
