Is the 2018 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru WRX earns a 4.92/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its fun driving experience, excellent handling, and accessible power, and the model’s practical sports-sedan layout with standard all-wheel drive makes it appealing if you want everyday usability with an enthusiast edge. The trade-off is that some owners find the interior a bit cheap for the class, so it suits you best if driving enjoyment matters more than cabin polish. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still decent market availability if you want to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.92/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many people enjoy living with over time, especially because it delivers dependable everyday performance and a driving experience that stays engaging. The repeated praise for its strong performance and handling suggests you can count on it to remain satisfying if you value a sporty, all-weather sedan. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving character and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,806 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $19,291 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,412 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you're buying now but means a future seller may need to price competitively. Because the current average is still within the model’s year-round range, the WRX is holding a fairly stable position rather than dropping sharply. If you plan to resell later, the car’s enthusiast appeal should help, but condition and maintenance history will matter a lot when it comes time to list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and everyday performance, the 2018 WRX is the year to focus on. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s strong satisfaction and market position.
