Is the 2018 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. It is especially appealing if you want a compact performance car that still works for everyday driving and spirited outings. Is the 2018 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because it delivers the kind of performance and handling they want without losing its practical side. The recurring themes of fun, strong performance, and accessible power suggest a model that owners feel confident counting on for regular use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained properly, since performance-oriented cars can be more sensitive to neglect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,819 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $18,836 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,428 CAD.

That price movement suggests the WRX has softened enough to give you a better entry point as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the current average is still close to the year-round low, there is some support under the market, which can help limit downside if you keep the car in good condition. Strong owner satisfaction can also help maintain interest when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the WRX formula at a lower used price, especially because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a softer market. If you are more price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years and shopping for the best deal rather than focusing only on the 2018 badge.
