Is the 2018 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Nissan Altima earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its comfort, smooth ride, good fuel economy, and technology features, and many also like the spacious trunk. In practical terms, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a comfortable, well-equipped midsize sedan for everyday commuting and family use. With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2018 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a generally dependable ownership experience, with many reviews highlighting comfort and everyday usability over time. At the same time, some buyers mention transmission concerns and maintenance-related issues, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the car has been cared for. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term risk is not the model’s basic appeal, but whether a specific example has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 88 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,926 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $12,928 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,260 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you're buying now but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a good choice if you want a comfortable, well-equipped sedan and you value current pricing that has eased from last year. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar Altima offers a better deal for your budget, but the 2018 remains the stronger pick when you want a balanced mix of value, comfort, and owner approval.
