Is the 2018 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth and comfortable ride, the spacious interior, and the luxurious features, while the overview also highlights the RX as a calm, upscale choice that prioritises comfort, refinement, and reliability. If you want a used luxury SUV that leans more toward everyday comfort than flash, this model year fits that brief well. Is the 2018 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, low-maintenance ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as dependable and trouble-free. That lines up with the RX’s reputation for long-term durability and the kind of ownership experience you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the technology feels dated enough to bother you over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.64% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $31,893 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,161 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may temper what you recover later as a seller. Even so, the RX’s reputation for comfort, reliability, and broad appeal should help it remain attractive in the used market. If you keep it in good condition and stay on top of maintenance, you should still have a solid chance of holding value better than many mainstream SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a comfortable, well-regarded luxury SUV and you value a strong ownership reputation. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains a sensible choice when you want a polished RX with solid market support.
