That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A rising average price can support resale confidence, especially when inventory is limited and demand remains steady. The fact that prices are already above last year’s level also suggests there may be less room for bargain hunting than before.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.22% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 2018 Lexus IS, it makes sense to focus on well-priced examples because the market is leaning in sellers’ favour. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and look for the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price rather than paying a premium for this one.
