How much does the 2018 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 12.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 232 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2018 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2018 GMC Terrain earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and the variety of features available, especially in higher trim levels. It also gets credit for being smooth and enjoyable to drive, with the available 2.0L turbo engine standing out for stronger performance. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV with a more premium feel, a comfortable ride, and a well-equipped cabin. With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile options to shop.

Is the 2018 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, especially when they value comfort and a smooth driving experience. The positive long-term impressions suggest that many buyers have been able to count on it over time, even if some reviewers mention brake sensitivity, a lack of power in certain situations, and pricing concerns.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad owner dissatisfaction and more about making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained properly and suits your expectations for performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 232 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,821 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $16,821 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,249 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but you should also expect resale values to reflect the same downward pressure if market conditions stay similar.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the newer second-generation Terrain with a more premium cabin, modern tech, and strong owner approval, the 2018 is the better fit. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with lower pricing may be worth a look, but the 2018 stands out as the more polished choice for shoppers who value comfort and features.
