Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2018 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $12,938 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,238 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle more attractive to buyers now but may limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand from shoppers can help support resale, especially when the model continues to score well with owners.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked used SUV with a softer price trend and decent deal availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby years as well, but the 2018 stands out as a balanced option when you want owner approval and market value working in your favour.
