This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 303 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $14,761 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,726 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make this model easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the softer pricing means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because shoppers continue to value the Equinox’s comfort and practicality.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned third-generation Equinox with a more modern cabin, updated powertrains, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may also want to compare nearby years and look for the best-maintained example at the lowest price, especially if you can find one in the lower end of the current range.
