Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 233 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,823 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $16,823 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,282 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Terrain easier to buy now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend means you should focus on condition, mileage, and service history to protect value. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want a comfortable, upscale-feeling compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Terrain makes sense if you want a more premium-feeling compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is simply the lowest purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but for shoppers who value comfort, features, and a polished cabin, the 2018 is the better-balanced choice.
