Is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.54/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, decent fuel economy, good power, and towing ability, while also appreciating its compact size and easy drivability compared with full-size trucks. It fits well if you want a midsize pickup that balances everyday usability with real truck capability, especially if you value versatility and a manageable footprint. With 27.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.54/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with many drivers describing it as a solid, trouble-free choice for the kind of work and commuting a midsize pickup often handles. At the same time, some owners mention mechanical concerns, so you should still pay close attention to service history and how the truck has been maintained.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a well-priced example can still hide expensive repair needs if it has not been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 106 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,048 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $24,007 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,252 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about pricing. If you buy now, you may not see rapid appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance than on market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because the Colorado remains a practical midsize truck with broad usefulness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.54/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.54/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Colorado is a sensible pick if you want a midsize pickup with strong owner approval, a softer price trend, and enough inventory to compare several examples. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s stronger market position and owner satisfaction.
