Used 2017 Volkswagen Golf for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2017 Volkswagen Golf cost?

Prices have softened 14.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 134 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2017 Volkswagen Golf, and it fits a compact performance hatch that blends speed, grip, and a restrained look. The overview also points to standard all-wheel drive, an upscale appearance inside and out, and a setup that is fast and fun to drive while still feeling refined and comparatively subtle. For you, that means this model year makes the most sense if you want a hot hatch with serious performance and a more understated personality. There are 24.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes this model year as appealing for buyers who want a refined, fast hatchback with an upscale feel, but it also notes that the latest versions can be fiddly to use because of the infotainment layout. For used buyers, that means the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s character and more about whether you are comfortable living with a control system that may take some getting used to.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Volkswagen Golf?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 24.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 134 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,801 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf's resale value?

The current average of $12,296 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,416 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. A model with steady demand and a strong reputation for satisfaction can still hold interest with future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volkswagen Golf or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, subtle styling, and buyer satisfaction, the 2017 is the one to prioritise. If your main goal is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2017 stands out when you can find a well-priced example with the equipment and condition you want.
