How much does the 2017 Honda Civic cost?

There are 526 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Civic earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, great gas mileage, enjoyable features, impressive handling, and spacious interior. That lines up well if you want a compact car that feels practical for daily driving while still being economical and easy to live with. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also describes the Civic as a dependable, trouble-free daily driver with strong value for the price. That kind of feedback matters if you plan to keep the car for the long haul, because it suggests the model has earned trust from people living with it every day. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the car’s core dependability and more about finding one that has been maintained well over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 526 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,519 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,555 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,761 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit short-term upside for a future seller. If you own one, the current pricing trend means resale value is being supported more by the Civic’s reputation than by rising market prices. Strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help it stay desirable, but you should still expect a competitive used market when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,136 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,555 CAD average.
• The redesign brought a more polished, more desirable small car.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger all-around package and are willing to pay a bit more for a well-liked, well-rounded Civic. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better value play, especially if you find one in good condition and can live with the older-year pricing advantage.
