The current average of $32,844 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,982 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you if you're buying now but may trim some upside if you're planning to sell soon. Even so, the Tacoma’s strong owner satisfaction and reputation for value help support demand in the used market. If you keep the truck in good condition and price it realistically, it should remain attractive to future shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a Tacoma with strong owner approval and a market that has cooled a bit, the 2017 is a sensible target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and equipment.
