Used 2017 Subaru Forester for Sale nearMarkham, ON

How much does the 2017 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 18.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 211 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its exceptional safety features, spacious interior, and reliable all-wheel-drive capabilities, and they also highlight its comfort and value. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a practical compact SUV with strong everyday usability and confidence in poor weather. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, especially around the all-wheel-drive system and the vehicle’s trouble-free day-to-day usability. That said, some buyers mention concerns about hidden issues such as structural damage, so condition and history matter a lot on the used market. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a poorly maintained or poorly disclosed example rather than the model’s core design itself.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 211 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.51% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,965 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $14,984 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,387 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The current range also shows that well-priced examples still command meaningful interest, especially when condition and history are strong.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a practical compact SUV with strong safety, standard all-wheel drive, and broad owner approval, the 2017 is a solid year to target. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a strong choice when you find a clean example at the right price.
