Is the 2014 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Subaru Forester earns a 4.58/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spaciousness, reliability, and enjoyable driving experience, and many also like its smooth ride and great fuel economy. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a practical compact SUV with strong everyday usability, especially for family duty and all-weather driving. With 21.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a car that many drivers feel comfortable counting on over time. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance records, especially because long-term ownership risk can rise if prior care was inconsistent.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing appears, but it still pays to be selective.

• Deal availability: 21.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 138 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.51% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $10,576 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $11,807 CAD sits slightly above last year's $11,631 CAD.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to steady buyer interest rather than a sharp drop in value. The Forester's practical layout, standard all-wheel drive, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 21.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.51% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, practical compact SUV with strong owner approval, the 2014 is a solid place to start. If you are especially price-sensitive, compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
