Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights it as reliable, efficient, and trouble-free for many drivers, with a reputation for being a car you can count on in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the transmission has been well cared for before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and compare examples carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,345 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $9,345 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,641 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make future resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is choosing a clean, well-maintained example and avoiding overpaying today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Sentra with a lower average price and decent deal availability, the 2017 is a sensible primary target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017 model year’s market position.
