How much does the 2017 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, smooth ride, and excellent reliability, and many also like the comfortable handling and fuel economy on longer trips. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that feels more polished and enjoyable to drive than many rivals, especially if you value everyday comfort and a near-premium feel. With 28.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a decent amount of market value to find.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find reliable, dependable, and trouble-free over the long term. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for daily driving and road trips without constant worry.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition and maintenance history still matter, so a well-kept example is the safer bet.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 337 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,503 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $18,070 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,657 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should stay realistic rather than aggressive. The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the newer-generation CX-5 feel, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better pick when you want a more polished driving experience and are willing to pay a bit more for it.
