Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers, with praise for its smooth, quiet ride and comfortable day-to-day use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright weakness and more about finding a well-maintained example that has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 544 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,598 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $13,598 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,496 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tucson has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than a year ago. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help offset some depreciation risk. For resale, condition, mileage, and service history will matter even more when the market is already trending down.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong owner approval and a softer asking-price environment. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better fit when you want a balance of value, comfort, and market availability.
