• Inventory: There are 132 listings available.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of affordability, features, and current market value, the 2017 is the stronger starting point. If you’re more price-sensitive and want to widen your search, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2017 stands out when you want a well-equipped Sonata at a softer used-car price.
