Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 19.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 91 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,553 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $10,568 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,363 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make future resale gains harder to count on in the short term. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later. The model’s compact size and practical appeal should still help it remain relevant with budget-minded shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 19.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Trax makes the most sense if you want a small, city-friendly SUV with strong owner approval and you can take advantage of the softer pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017’s updated features and owner satisfaction.
