Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its great gas mileage, compact size, and useful features, and they also like how well it handles, especially on hills. That lines up well with its city-friendly design and everyday practicality, especially if you want a small SUV that is easy to live with. With 22.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on practical use, good fuel economy, and a compact footprint that suits daily driving. That kind of long-term approval suggests the Trax can be a sensible used buy if you value simple, predictable transportation. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the vehicle’s comfort and equipment level meet your expectations over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 22.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,891 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $10,941 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,375 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right now. If you own one, you may need to price it competitively to stand out in the market. On the other hand, the lower entry point can help keep demand steady among shoppers looking for a practical, budget-minded small SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 22.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Trax makes the most sense if you want a small, city-friendly SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price than it had a year ago. If you are price-sensitive, this year is worth a close look; if you want the best value, focus on well-priced listings near the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against other nearby model years.
