Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its great gas mileage, compact size, and practical everyday usefulness, and they also like its features and how well it handles, especially on hills. That fits the Trax’s role as a city-friendly small SUV with a higher driving position, useful space, and easy manoeuvrability. With 18.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, especially if you value a small SUV that is easy to live with day to day. Its reputation for good gas mileage and practical use suggests it can be a sensible long-term choice for commuting and errands. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly, since condition matters more as these vehicles age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 18.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,726 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $10,735 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,415 CAD.

That decline suggests the Trax has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current range still shows some stability around the low end, which can help support resale if your vehicle is in strong condition and well equipped. Because the market has already adjusted downward, a clean, well-maintained example is more likely to hold buyer interest than one that needs work.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 18.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a small, city-friendly SUV with useful features and a strong owner satisfaction signal, the 2017 Trax is the better fit when you find one priced well and in good condition. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower-priced example offers similar equipment and mileage for less money.
