How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 20.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 233 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and the comfort features also come through in the feedback. That lines up well with the Equinox’s practical, roomy cabin and its appeal as a comfortable compact SUV for everyday use. With 19.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights dependability, which is encouraging if you want a used SUV you can count on. That said, this model year’s reputation means you should still pay close attention to maintenance records and overall condition before you buy. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is ending up with a vehicle that has not been properly cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and disciplined.

• Deal availability: 19.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 233 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,154 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $11,154 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,974 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale gains harder to count on if you buy at the wrong price. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is choosing a well-kept example with strong service records and avoiding vehicles that need immediate repairs. A lower entry price can help offset some depreciation, but condition will matter a lot when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 19.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 makes sense if you want a roomy, comfortable SUV and you find a clean example with strong maintenance history at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better path when you want a balance of value, comfort, and available inventory.
