Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Its appeal comes from a more spacious interior, a more fuel-efficient powertrain, and a refreshed look that added Nissan’s V-motion grille for 2016. For you, that means a compact sedan that focuses on everyday practicality, value, and efficiency rather than performance. The market also shows 28.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Sentra’s strengths are its practical design, improved efficiency, and roomy cabin, but this generation is also known for CVT-related concerns. If you’re considering one used, a careful test drive and close attention to maintenance history matter because transmission issues can affect long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Sentra?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,542 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $8,542 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,019 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sentra has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy in at a lower cost today. For a future seller, though, softer pricing can mean less upside if the market stays cautious. The model’s practical reputation and efficient focus should still help it remain relevant to budget-minded shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Sentra makes sense if you want a roomy, efficient compact sedan with a refreshed appearance and a used price that has come down. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 is the better fit when you want a balance of value, practicality, and current market softness.
