Is the 2016 Nissan Altima a good car?

Generally — the 4.47/5 user rating points to a car that many owners feel good about living with. Drivers commonly praise its great gas mileage, sleek design, and comfort, and many also value the modern features and overall value for the price. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a comfortable, efficient midsize sedan with a strong equipment list. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a car that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its comfort and efficiency helping reinforce that impression. At the same time, some owners report CVT-related concerns, so you should pay close attention to service history and how the transmission behaves on a test drive. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if the car has been maintained well, but it is worth being selective.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 110 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.86% compared with last year.

The current average of $10,157 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,657 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale to be shaped by value-conscious shoppers rather than strong appreciation. If you keep the car in good condition and maintain it properly, you can help protect its appeal when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Altima makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, efficient midsize sedan with a strong value proposition and you can find one priced well. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
