Is the 2016 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. You get a sedan that buyers consistently praise for its comfort, sleek design, great gas mileage, and overall value for the price. That fits especially well if you want a practical midsize sedan that balances style, comfort, and efficiency without chasing sporty performance. With 23.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its trouble-free comfort, fuel economy, and value. At the same time, the CVT transmission is a recurring concern in owner comments, so you should pay close attention to service history and how the transmission behaves on a test drive. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if the car has been maintained well, but it deserves extra scrutiny.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,157 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,540 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,122 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you own one for several years, the softer current pricing can help you enter at a lower cost basis, but it also means future depreciation may remain a factor. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Altima makes the most sense if you want the facelifted version of this generation with strong value, good comfort, and a lower entry price than many rivals. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar car is available with a better asking price or a cleaner service history.
