How much does the 2016 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is a solid pick if you want a compact SUV that balances comfort, features, and everyday practicality, and its 3.8/5 user rating reflects that mixed-but-positive reception.

Drivers commonly praise its smooth ride, comfortable interior, and reliability, and many also like features such as cooled seats and the panoramic roof. The Tucson’s roomier body and more mature design make it a good fit if you want a practical small SUV with a more upscale presence, especially for commuting and family use. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a more refined and better-rounded compact SUV than the model that came before it.

Owners often describe it as reliable and comfortable, and the user feedback also points to a smooth ride and a generally dependable feel for everyday use. At the same time, some drivers report serious concerns with safety and transmission behaviour, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the vehicle drives on a test route. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable only if the specific example has been well maintained and shows no signs of transmission trouble.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 410 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,003 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,027 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,456 CAD.

That decline suggests the Tucson has softened in the used market, which can work in your favour if you're buying now. For a future seller, it means you should not expect strong price appreciation unless the vehicle is especially well equipped, low kilometre, and in excellent condition. If you plan to resell later, buying at the lower end of the current range gives you a better chance of limiting depreciation.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 Tucson is the better choice if you want a more refined, well-equipped compact SUV at a lower used price than newer examples. If your priority is value and you can find a clean, well-documented vehicle, the 2016 makes sense; if you want to shop even more aggressively on price, a nearby older year may be worth comparing as well.
