Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 349 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,413 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport's resale value?

The current average of $11,413 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,466 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make resale planning a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you’re a future seller, the current softness means you may want to focus on condition, service history, and trim appeal to help protect value. A well-kept example should still attract interest, especially if it stands out on features and overall presentation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked SUV with a lower current average price and a decent share of good deals. If you’re price-sensitive, this year looks especially worth a close look; if you’re comparing across nearby years, use condition and listing price to decide whether a newer or older example gives you better value.
